Words cannot describe how happy I am right now.
The friendship that had been put on hiatus ad infinitum ~two weeks ago is back on again. There were explanations and apologies exchanged between the two of us, and … well, I don’t really want to go into all the details, but suffice it to say that I’m grinning like Augustus Gloop when he found the Golden Ticket. Er…yeah.
I guess sometimes it takes a while away from someone or something to realize how much that someone or something brought to your life.

I’ve always known how lucky I am to have such an amazing boss. She’s supportive of everything I do, constantly tells me what an asset I am to the team, and is unrelenting in her efforts to get me the biggest raise possible each March.
Now, she’s gone and raised the bar even higher. She knows how much I love Target and that my birthday is coming up soon, so she gave me a generous gift card to Target. This is especially useful since I’ll be moving soon and will need to get new stuff for my new digs.

On my way home from running some errands this morning, my car slid on some ice while trying to stop for a red light, and I rear-ended someone. Luckily, since I was already braking, the impact was minimal. The guy driving the other car pulled out of the intersection, and I followed him. We both got out of our cars and took a look at his bumper. He brushed off the dust, looked at me, and said “This is nothing. Don’t worry about it!” I asked him if he was sure – that I had insurance – and he said he was sure, he was okay and his car was just fine. We shook hands, got back in our cars, and drove off.
I didn’t get his name, but I’m thankful that he was so nice about what happened. I don’t think many people like that exist around here.
