On the dreary drive into work yesterday afternoon, I decided to listen to the radio instead of my usual array of CDs. I’m glad I did, because I heard a really great song by an artist named James Blunt.
I did a little Internets research on Mr. Blunt and found that he’s British (swoon) and served time in the military (even guarding the Queen for a while) before fulfilling his dream of becoming a singer/songwriter.
Anywho, the song I heard on the radio was “You’re Beautiful” and the title could aptly be applied to the lyrics themselves. Through the wonder that is The Hype Machine, I heard a few more of his songs and have become enamored enough to actually go out and buy his CD.
He doesn’t have any tour dates listed for St. Louis (no shocker, that), but I plan to keep an eye on his schedule. I imagine he’d be amazing to see/hear in concert.
Edit 3/15/06: James Blunt will be in St. Louis at The Pageant on May 16! Huzzah!
